Twentyfourth Challenge for The Paper Shelter - "Anything Goes"

Now before I start this post it has had to be scheduled, as at the moment I have my two grandsons staying with me and Im not able to get into my craft room so I do hope you will forgive me if I dont get to visit you to comment at the moment, its a bit hectic with not only the boys but also the new puppy Missy. Anyway before I start I want to say a very big thank you and to say we are going to miss two fabulous Design Team members and they are our Team Leader Cheryl, what an outstanding job she has done for us Thank You so much, and also our very own Kevin who we shall miss to as hes such a talented member of the team and a brilliant commentor on our work, Thank You both so much. As of next week we shall be split into two design teams and I will have some news for you as I said the other week, but back to today its our Twentyfourth Challenge and this one is themed "Anything Goes" and I know how much you enjoy this and it gives you a free hand to pick your own design and image. Our fabulous sponsers are as always the very talented couple from "The Paper Shelter" Pedro and Veronica.
And they are offering you a fabulous prize of $15 that can be spent in their shop The Paper Shelter, and if youve actually used one of their gorgeous images you will be entitled to the whole amount and even if you havent you will still be eligable for one of them. The range of images and co-ordinating papers is unbelievable they are quite stunning, and the price is also within your budget believe me as the amount you would get with this voucher is a lot.
This is my card for this Challenge.
I have used the "Summer Games" image for my card, isnt she just gorgeous and you will find her here, and the papers are "Spring Swing", I have printed the image onto white card and coloured it with my copics and Tria pens then used Nestabilitie Labels Die No.4 to cut it out and used the die again for the mount. The sentiment is one from my stash I think its probably from TLC but I carnt rely on that.
The base card 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of yellow card and my first paper from the "Spring Swing" set and you will find them here, this is a yellow paisley looking pattern then on top is a strip mounted on yet another piece of yellow card this has hearts and stripes on, this was laid down the left hand side, the third paper has again been mounted on yellow card and this pattern is a yellow background with flowers on and this was laid across the base card. Ive then positioned my mounted image towards the left and the sentiment at the bottom on the right.
To finish of Ive used some of the left over papers to create two large flowers and threaded a pearl brad through the centre and then stuck them to card with some silicone glue on top of some punched out leaves.
I do hope that now youve seen my card you will go and visit the rest of the Design Team over on  The Paper Shelter Challenge Blogspot and hopefully this will inspire you to take part in this weeks Challenge of "Anything Goes".

The Twentythird Challenge for The Paper Shelter "The Colour Green"

Good Morning Everyone, I dont know about you but these weeks go so quickly by and I dont know if Im on my head or my heels, Ive got to get everything ready this week for the visit of my two grandsons who we are of to Norfolk on Friday to pick up and bring back for a weeks holiday starting this Saturday, wish me luck clearing out my craft room theres a lot to move believe me. Anyway getting back to this weeks Challenge we are asking you to use "The Colour Green" on your card and again we are being sponsered by our fabulous sponsers The Paper Shelter.
And they are offering a fabulous prize of $15 to buy lots of their gorgeous digi images and beautiful papers on their website "The Paper Shelter", believe me you will be really surprised as to how far that amount goes, this full amount is only for those that have used one of their images on their card, but even if you havent dont despair they will give you one of their images of your own choice, this is picked by the random number org.
And now back to my card for this weeks Challenges.
Isnt he gorgeous, this is "Whimsical Dragon" and you will find him here, and Ive also used the papers from "Spring Swing" for my card. The image has been printed onto white card then coloured with my copic and tria pens before being cut out with Nestabilitie Die Label"E" (these were ones that were sold by Create and Craft" and then used the same die to create the mount for it. The sentiment is one I created on my computer that I found by googling, this also has been mounted onto green card.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of green card and one of three papers from the "Spring Swing" paper set you will find them here, this first paepr is a rather ornate pattern, and on top is a simpler one that Ive cut into a strip and used a dinosaur border punch on both edges, then on top of this is another of the papers thats been mounted on green card and stuck down the middle of the last paper.
The mounted image was then stuck in the middle with the sentiment at the bottom on the right. To finish of Ive created with some left over paper two daisy's with the Die-namic daisy die, and layered it up on some punched our leaves.
Now that youve seen my card I do hope you will now pop over to The Paper Shelter Blogspot and see what the rest of the design team have got in store for you, Im sure you wont be dissappointed and hopefully this will inspire you to take part in this weeks "The Colour Green" Challenge.

Good Morning All, well again another fortnight has gone by and weve now reached our Fifteenth Challenge and Bearlymine Designs and this time we are asking you to use a "Tag" somewhere on your card, and our new team members are also taking part in their very first DT challenge so I do hope you will visit them and leave them some love.
This time we are being sponsered by:-

Now that is an awesome amount of fabulous prizes and its just a shame we arnt allowed to take part in the challenge but Im sure it wont stop you as the entries for our challenges have sky rocketed and I want to thank you so much for taking part in them.
Anyway this is my card for this fortnights Challenge.
For my image Ive used a Whimsey Digi stamp of a dad and his little girl, the sentiment is also from the stamp digi set, Ive printed them onto white card then used my Copic and Tria pens to colour it, afterwards Ive used a Nestabilitie Label Die No.17 to cut it out and then used the die again to create the faux mount for it out of ivory pearlescent card. The sentiment was also printed onto white card but I used a GoCreate Tag die for this and then mounted it onto a larger die cut.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with the first paper "Summer Lace" from Donna's Bearlymine Design papers, on top of this I have used another paper from "Paper Lace" for the die cuts these were made with the Marianne die, on top of these are hearts cut with the Cherry Lynn dies. I then wrapped a satin ribbon around the middle and attaching it to the back of the first mount.
I then positioned my mounted image to the left and tucked my tag sentiment in on the right, but before doing so I tied a bow with some more of the ribbon that was threaded through the hole at the top.
Now youve seen my card I do so hope that you will now pop across to the Bearlymine Design Challenge Blogspot and see what the rest of the design team have created for your enjoyment and hopefully this will inspire you to take part in this fortnights Challenge "Tag your It".

Cards for Men - Challenge 15 - "Use a Key"

Good Morning Everyone, yet again another fortnight has flown by and weve now reached our 15th Challenge and this time we are asking you to use a "Key" somewhere on your card, and we are being sponsered by Prairie Fairy Designs and they have offered you a fabulous prize of 5 digi stamps or your own choice.
And this is what Roberta has to say about her company:-

Hello! I am Roberta from Prairie Fairy Designs. I am a new digital stamp company featuring artwork not only created by me but also my two kids, ages 9 and 12. They are featured on the site as the Fairy Princess and the Prairie Prince.
I have been an artist for as long as I can remember and have always loved to create. Two years ago my sister-in-law invited me to a rubber stamp party. I laughed and said "Maybe I will buy something if I can use it to stamp on canvases.". Needless to say, I was hooked! Two years later and a lot of learning about computers, I have finally accomplished my goal.
While digital stamping is relatively new in the papercrafting scene, it is what I believe to be such an amazing tool. Printed images have such clarity and vibrancy and gone is the need to re stamp an image because you didn't press hard enough or maybe you pressed too hard! They are also a lot easier to store and they can be reprinted over and over again. The fact that you can rotate and flip files, print them off the size of a postage stamp or as large as a scrapbook page makes them such a versatile medium. It is my sincere hope that I can help anyone who has hesitations about using digital images to embrace these amazing creative tools. If you have any questions about going digital, check out the site and the blog for more information. So head on over to http://www.prairiefairydesigns.com/ and check it out!

And here is the card I created with one of her fabulous images, we were lucky enought to be given several images to play with.
As you are probably aware we have a 15 week old Yorkie pup and I thought that this was an ideal image to use for this fortnights challenge, so far weve been lucky enough to not to have her bite our bums, anyway Ive printed it onto white card before colouring it with my copic and tria pens, then used Nestabilitie Labels Die No.8 to cut it out then used the die itself to draw around to create a faux mount for it. The sentiment is one I created on my computer and printed it also onto white card then used a Label die from Spellbinders to cut it out and to create a mount for it.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of blue card with one of two papers from the Nitwit "Sandcastles" digi paper set, this one is a blue background with a wave pattern on, the second I cut into a 5" square and used a shell border and corner punch on it, this was then layered on top of the first mount at a slight angle, and I then used a piece of the same blue card to run through my cuttlebug with a key embossing folder and before layering it onto of these two papers Ive used the same border punch along both edges.
I then positioned my mounted image in the middle with the sentiment at the bottom on the right, this was attached to the card with two blue brads, and the last little flourish are the two key charms stuck down the right hand side at the top.
Now youve seen my card I do hope you will be inspired to take part in this fortnights challenge, if youd like to go across to The Cards for Me Challenge Blogspot and see what the rest of the very talented team have for your delight Im sure it will be the push for you to make a card yourself.

A Card for the Lili of the Valley - "Pink and Blue" Challenge

Before I start I want to let you know that my Design Team Leader Donna of Bearlymine Designs has a Midsummer Sale on at the moment so do please pop across and see for yourself what wonderful digi design sets she has.
Now again I must apologise for not posting very much over the last week, its mainly because we have the new pup but also because Im trying to get ready for my grandsons who are due to arrive on the 23rd for a week and I know Im not going to be able to do much while they are here as they take over my craft room and I have to move out. My DT cards will be scheduled for the right date for them to appear so there will be cards appearing on certain days. Anyway to start again Good Morning Everyone, hope the weather with you is a little brighter than it is with me today, its suddenly gone very cloudy and hubby has gone to take his car in for its first service so will be away for a few hours and Im in sole charge of Madam Missy, shes a right little madam believe me like all pups into everything and chewing anything she can get her sharp little needle teeth into, this week she demolised part of the door seal on the back door, I just hope we dont get a puddle indoors when it rains or we will be in trouble.
Anyway todays card has been created for this weeks Lili of the Valley "Pink and Blue" Challenge, and Ive used this sweet little girl for my image.
She was one of the freebies I got from a craft magazine and Ive coloured her with my copic pens then used the Nestabilitie Labels 15 to cut her out, then used the die to draw around to create the mount for it. The sentiment is one from my stash and I believe its one of the C&C stamps, Ive mounted this onto a piece of the left over pink card.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first layer of pink and blue patterned paper from another freebie pack Pink Peddicoat that I got from Quick Cards, on top of this is a pink spot paper thats been cut into a 5" square and one of my Martha Stewart border and corner lace punches have been used (not that you can see it to well) then on top of this is a third mount this time its a pretty rose pattern on a white background. I then stuck a blue heart that I punched out with the Cherry Lynn die, and positioned my mounted image on top. The sentiment was then stuck at the bottom on the right hand side.
The last thing is the spray of five roses in the top left hand corner, Ive used three pink ones and two blue and white ones, these were stuck with some punched out rose leaves on top of silicone glue.

The sentiment is one from my stash and this was cut out with my rotatrim and mounted on a piece of left over pink card.
The base card is 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of pink card and one of two papers from The Paper Shelters "Sweetest Love" papers and you will find them here, this first one is a pink background with heart edges and hearts randomly spread all over it, the second is another pink paper with more hearts on and this was cut into a 5" square and then one of the heart border and corner punches used on it, this was then layered up and a pink ribbon was then layed across the middle and attached at the back of the first mount.

A Card for the LOV Challenge "A Sketch by Donalda"

Good Afternoon Everyone, I dont know about you I had awful trouble yesterday with Blogger and I had every intention of popping to visit you to leave you comments, and as one of you already know the ones that I did get to I probably left more than one comment as each time I clicked on publish comment it came up with the error page, so if you are one of those please forgive me and delete all the double up ones. Anyway I thought today that I would post a card that Ive just made for one of my neighbours who's just had her knee operated on and I suspect shes trying to excerise it, shes a very agile 83 year old and looks in her 60s. I dont know if you had a selection of LOV images that were part of one of craft magazines this month, but I was lucky enough to do so and have used this sweet image of a little girl with a bunch of flowers, Ive coloured her with my copic and tria pens before using the rectangle die from Nestabilities, Ive also used the deckled edged one for the mount. The sentiment is one of my stash and this has been stamped onto white card then mounted onto a piece of yellow card.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card and then used a yellow piece of card for the first mount and on top Ive used one of four papers from the new Wild Rose Butterfly Paper set, a yellow background with yellow roses and pink butterflies on it, the second is pink butterfly paper, the third is a green leaf one and the fourth is a yellow roses paper. These were then mounted according to Donalda's sketch and then my mounted image on top in the centre with the sentiment at the bottom on the right.
I then created a flower spray with two different sized roses and a rose bud on top of some punched out rose and fern leaves, and with a couple of pearl pin have stuck it around the image at the bottom left hand corner. The final flourish is the three pearls stuck down the right hand side at the top.

A Special Card for a Special Grandson

Yesterday evening I had a phone call from my youngest daughter Clare, telling me that her eldest son Daniel had done so well in his exams that he will be put into the top stream when he starts his Secondary School in September (he and his brother Oliver will be coming to stay for a week on the 23rd July) that I thought it was a good idea to send him a card telling him how proud I was of his achievements. I also told his mum that his achievements are all down to her she was very good with getting him to learn to read and to spell, shes been very good at keeping this up while all as a young lad wants to do is play but its certainly paid of, and Im really proud of him.
Anyway I thought as I had made a card that I would share it with you and perhaps even find a few Challenges to enter it in, so I have used Mo Mannings "Yale" for my image and coloured him with my copic and tria pens before cutting him out with the Nestabilitie Labels7 Die, then used the die to create the mount for it. The sentiment was one I generated on my computer then printed it out onto a piece of card, afterwards I mount this also onto a piece of red card.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of red card, and one of three papers from the Papermania "Mans World" paper set, the first one is a two tone red stripe then on top is a polka dot paper on the second mount and the third one is a plaid. I then positioned my image in the centre with the sentiment at the bottom underneath it.

A Special Challenge from Mo

Good Evening, I know Ive not been around for a few days but I suspect you know that Im rather busy training our brand new fur baby so please forgive me and hopefully things will improve as she seems quite an easy pup to train.
Anyway Mo of Digital Pencil has a special Challenge on Facebook here so if youd like to take part please do pop across and visit her page and see for yourself. This new image is called Trudy in her Party Dress, and you actually get the doll and the dress separately, I suspect you remember dressing paper dolls I certainly do. Anyway Ive printed her onto card then coloured her with copic pens, the dress was printed onto a piece of Kay Millers "Hey Girlfriend" digi papers, I then used a bit of blue for the sash and the edging of her dress, this also has tabs on the shoulders and the end of the sash for you to fix in front of the doll.
The card is a side stepper thats been mounted with yellow card and two papers from the same digi set, a pretty flowered one for the front a blue one for the back, I then used the flower die from Die-namics for the flowers, and the Marianne dies for the leaves.
Ive been asked to give dimensions of this card and here they are, please forgive some of the rub outs, Im not used to this sort of thing.
If you click on the template it will bring it up in a bigger window, I hope this is good enough explanation for you.
